Center for Research and Marketing Strategy

UPCEA created the Center for Research and Marketing Strategy (CREMS) in response to the need for benchmarking information and actionable market research among the Association's nearly 400 colleges and universities.

What can the Center do for you?

  • Study your customers and prospects
  • Determine demand for new programs
  • Analyze online and in-the-class potential
  • Assess and explore new market potential
  • Measure the impact of competition
  • Design data-driven marketing strategies
  • Set benchmarks with other organizations
  • Conduct pricing and value research
  • Plan electronic and traditional media through research

The Center for Research and Marketing Strategy has three pillars:

  1. A paid membership model that offers affordable custom research and consulting, and participation in a shared research agenda on timely issues facing the field of professional, continuing, and online education.
  2. National benchmarking studies for the benefit of UPCEA members. The Center will provide value to all UPCEA members by offering improvements on the long-standing UPCEA management and marketing studies and by adding timely benchmarking studies on other issues.
  3. Individual consulting and research projects for Center members at a discounted rate and non-members at market rate.

UPCEA Center For Research and Marketing Strategy uses a variety of research tools, including electronic surveys, demographic and occupational databases, focus groups and qualitative research, competitive and pricing analysis, statistical models and other methods.

What Members are Saying

“I’ve been very impressed by the two reports we’ve gotten from Jim Fong’s team….detailed, competitive analysis, a concise, easy to understand summary of relevant labor statistics, and meaningful feedback from 10-15 thought leaders in the industry.  This is exactly the sort of information we need for launching programs in new and emerging fields.”

- Mary Cohen, Assistant Dean, Northwestern University
