Jim Fong is the newly appointed founding director of research and consulting at UPCEA. He has held many leadership and analytical roles within the research, marketing, and higher education communities.

UPCEA created the Center for Research and Consulting in response to the need for benchmarking information and actionable market research among the Association's nearly 400 colleges and universities.

The Center for Research and Consulting has three pillars:

  • A paid membership model that offers affordable custom research and consulting, and participation in a shared research agenda on timely issues facing the field of professional, continuing, and online education.

  • National benchmarking studies for the benefit of UPCEA members. The CRC will provide value to all UPCEA members by offering improvements on the long-standing UPCEA management and marketing studies and by adding timely benchmarking studies on other issues.

  • Individual consulting and research projects for CRC members at a discounted rate and non-members at market rate.

UPCEA Center For Research and Consulting uses a variety of research tools, including electronic surveys, demographic and occupational databases, focus groups and qualitative research, competitive and pricing analysis, statistical models and other methods.
